The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has issued a public apology to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu over allegations of involvement in the emirship crisis in the state.
Alfijir labarai reports that the Deputy Governor made the apology while briefing journalists on the ongoing crisis rocking the state over the dissolution of five emirates and reinstatement of Muhammad Sanusi II as Emir of Kano.
Mr Gwarzo hinted that the Kano government was misled but after carrying out a discreet investigation, the government has believed that the NSA was not involved in the crisis.
“First and foremost, the office of the National Security Adviser has refuted the allegations and distanced themselves from what we have allege. I have seen it, he has given it to three medias (sic),” the deputy governor said.
“And today I have seen the one about going to court or providing an evidence as to why we are alleging the involvement of his office or his person. We have to acknowledge that we have been deeply misled into believing that the NSA was behind the happenings along this line.

We investigated deep and further and we came to understand and accept the statement of the National Security Adviser that he was not involved.
“But at least we have been able to inform him the whole concern that this is what is happening which may not have come to their knowledge. And the explanation given by the NSA was that he was not aware of what is happening and why,” Mr Gwarzo added.
The Deputy Governor however, assured that the crisis that had continued to brew in Kano would be traced to its end.
Recall that Mr Gwarzo had earlier alleged that NSA Ribadu was involved in the return of 15th Emir, Aminu Bayero to the state after he was dethroned by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
