The African Development Bank (AfDB) is helping Nigeria to solve food crisis which has seen prices of food items continue to rise in the country, leading to increasing hunger.
Disclosing this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, the President of the AfDB, Akinwunmi Adesina, said the bank provided the sum of $134 million to Nigeria for its emergency food production programme.
The former Nigerian Minister of Agriculture said the AfDB has supported the cultivation of wheat, rice, maize, cassava and soy beans in Nigeria, especially the Northern part of the country.
