Breaking: Germany donates communication equipment to Nigeria Immigration

The German Federal Police has donated forty (40) Motorola radios to the Nigerian Immigration Service as part of ongoing international cooperation and capacity-building efforts.

Felix Haala, the Press Counsellor of the German Embassy in Abuja, emphasised that security partnership is a crucial pillar of cooperation, and the German government is committed to working together to enhance border security, improve operational efficiency through better surveillance, strengthen crisis response and disaster preparedness, and improve migration control.

This handover is not just a simple donation of equipment; it reflects Germany’s longstanding support and the continuously growing security partnership with Nigeria.

The key objectives of the donation include enhancing border security, boosting operational efficiency by improving surveillance, strengthening crisis response and disaster preparedness, and improving migration control.

These advanced security communication devices incorporate modern features that facilitate efficient operations.

This donation is part of a yearly exercise carried out by the German Federal Police on behalf of the German government.

It forms a vital part of the multifaceted approach that supports the existing bilateral partnership, which encompasses training, equipment support, intelligence sharing and institutional capacity building.
